During protest march on Saturday, 9th August which marked a year of junior doctor's rape-murder case at Kolkata's RG Kar Medical College, victim's mother alleged that police physically assaulted her. She was later assisted away from protest site. Police, however, rejected the claim outright. Port Division Deputy Commissioner stated, “No such incident took place. These allegations are baseless.”
