Around 10 days before resigning as the Vice President of India, Jagdeep Dhankhar at an event in Jawaharlal Nehru University said, "I will retire at the right time, August 2027, subject to divine intervention." Dhankhar on Monday stated in his resignation letter that he made the decision to resign to prioritise healthcare and abide by medical advice.
