10-yr-old builds 'AI-nose' that detects drugs for airport security
Ten-year-old Hsu Ting-wei from Taiwan won a gold medal at the recently held Silicon Valley International Invention Festival (SVIIF) in US' California for his "Novel Artificial Electronic Nose". The system uses AI-based odour recognition. Installed behind airports' X-ray baggage scanners, it could help detect pork products carrying African swine fever and intercept drugs without opening luggage.
