102 taluks in Karnataka declared drought-hit

Karnataka has identified 102 taluks as drought-affected, while several others are still under review, CM DK Shivakumar said. This comes as the state recorded 465 mm of rainfall from June 1 to August 26, 30% below the normal 666 mm. The government earmarked ₹635 crore to manage the crisis. Shivakumar requested people to stay patient as mitigation efforts are underway.
