Japanese centenarian mountaineer Kokichi Akuzawa scaled Mount Fuji, Japan’s highest peak at 3,776 metres (12,388 feet). At 102 years and 51 days, he became the oldest man to reach the summit of Mount Fuji. The honorary chairman of the Gunma Mountaineering Club, Akuzawa had battled heart failure earlier this year.
