Paul Rosolie, conservationist, recounted being charged by a wild elephant in India after accidentally approaching within five feet. He ran zigzagging through thorns, grabbing trees to pivot direction. The elephant stopped at a cliff edge, picked up a stick with its trunk, and hurled it at him. Rosolie survived, covered in blood. "It was amazing," he said.
