A 12-year-old in West Bengal died by suicide after public humiliation over an alleged chips theft. Krishnendu Das, a Class 7 student, left a note denying the theft, claiming he found the packet and intended to pay. The shopkeeper reportedly slapped him and forced him to do sit-ups in the public. The boy died after consuming pesticide.
