13-year-old Faizan Zaki, who finished as second last year, has won 2025 Scripps National Spelling Bee in US, taking away a $50,000 (₹42.6 lakh) cash prize. Faizan secured the win by correctly spelling the word 'éclaircissement', which is a French word that means clarification, explanation or enlightenment in English. He is the first runner-up to return and win since 2001.
