Ethan Vaz, who has become India's 96th Chess Grandmaster, didn't travel to play in foreign tournaments until 2023 due to financial constraints. Ethan's family, since 2022, tried to raise funds through crowdfunding route. "There were some people who would come on their own every year and say, 'It's time for my contribution’. That was so heartening," Ethan's father Edwin said.
