A 147 kg pregnant Ganga river dolphin trapped in a canal in Uttar Pradesh's Maharajganj was rescued and later released into the Rapti river, officials said. The endangered mammal was transported in a specially designed rescue ambulance to minimise stress during transit. Forest officials and wildlife experts handled the rescue carefully due to its size and pregnancy.
