Faecal bacteria level in Yamuna increased 14 times from what it was three months ago, as per a December 2021 report by Delhi Pollution Control Committee. Faecal coliform level in Yamuna at the time of exit from Delhi was 580 times more than the maximum permissible limits. "Over 20% of the population...yet to get proper sewer network," an official said.
