A wild elephant named Dhoni that was captured recently in Kerala's Palakkad had 15 pellets inside his body, said state Forest Minister AK Saseendran. "It is sad [that] people are taking the law into their [own] hands and firing at straying animals using country-made guns," he added. He promised strict action against those responsible.
