An 18-month-old boy who had remained in critical condition for five days after being given anaesthesia to stitch a cut lip died at a private hospital in Kerala's Kannur on Friday. The hospital has denied allegations of medical negligence. It said the child suffered unexpected cardiac arrest after administration of anaesthesia and was promptly placed on ventilator support.
