University of Exeter researchers decoded a 190-year-old Kachchhi/Gujarati scroll, identifying how Indian seafarers navigated the Red Sea and Gulf of Aden. Of 180 illustrated islands, 66 are in Indian scripts, including Devanagari and Hindi, and weren't identified before today. The chart dates back to 18th or 19th century, and was part of UK's Royal Geographical Society's collection for 189 years.
