Sydney Thunder's 19-year-old Indian-origin batsman Jason Sangha on Friday became the youngest ever batsman to smash a fifty in the Big Bash League. The middle-order-batsman, playing his first ever Big Bash League match, scored 63*(36) against Melbourne Stars. Sangha, who had led Australia to the 2018 Under-19 World Cup final, smashed four fours and four sixes during his knock.

Death toll from the massive 7.7-magnitude earthquake that jolted Myanmar on Friday crossed 1,600, the country's ruling junta said. The number of injured people rose to 3,408 and death toll hit 1,644 in about 30 hours since the earthquake. About 140 people are still missing in Myanmar while 50 people remain trapped under the collapsed high-rise building in Thailand's Bangkok.

The quake struck at a depth of 10 km and its epicentre was located 19 km southwest of the capital city of Nay Pyi Taw. Epicentre of Friday's earthquake was recorded near Mandalay.
