Astronomers have identified two ancient streams of stars that appear to be among the Milky Way's earliest building blocks. They have named the streams after the Hindu deities Shakti and Shiva. The structures were found using observations from the European Space Agency's Gaia space telescope. A research regarding the same has been published in the Astrophysical Journal.
