For the first time, two double-humped Bactrian camels, Galwan and Nubra, will take part in the Republic Day Parade. Native to Ladakh, the camels were inducted by the Indian Army to transport supplies, ammunition and equipment along the Line of Actual Control (LAC). Adapted to altitudes above 15,000 feet, they can carry loads of up to 250 kilograms.
