2 dead, 24,000 evacuated after floods in Indonesia's Sumatra

At least two children were killed and about 24,000 people were evacuated after torrential rains caused floods in Indonesia's Sumatra island, officials said on Tuesday. "We experience flooding at least five to eight times a year, but (this) is one of the most severe," a local resident said. Environmental campaigners have blamed deforestation for worsening the disaster on the island.
