Two persons were arrested by the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) at Amritsar airport on Tuesday for smuggling gold from Sharjah (UAE). They recovered 10 kg of gold worth around ₹1.9 crore from them that was hidden in their clothes and headgear to evade customs duty. The accused are residents of Jalandhar and had visited UAE on a tourist visa.
