Two Indian-origin men have been fined £1,391 (around ₹1.72 lakh) each in London’s Brent borough for spitting paan in public, according to Harrow Online. Identified as Akshitkumar Bhadre Patel (31) and Hitesh Patel (32), they were initially issued £100 on-the-spot fines in June 2025, but the amount increased after they failed to pay and appear in court.
