2 Mumbai doctors who kept Jinnah's illness a secret to get Pakistan's highest civilian award
Two Mumbai-based Parsi doctors, Dr Jal Ratanji Patel and Dr Jal Dhaybho-Koo, have been nominated posthumously for Pakistan’s highest civilian award, Nishan-e-Imtiaz. They examined Muhammad Ali Jinnah’s X-ray in 1946 and diagnosed advanced tuberculosis but kept his condition confidential. Pakistan said their secrecy was significant during the period before Partition.
