Two Bengaluru women were digitally held hostage for nine hours, harassed and stripped on a WhatsApp video call by fraudsters posing as Mumbai Police officials. They received a call accusing one of them of involvement in a Jet Airways scam linked to money laundering, human trafficking and murder. They were tricked into paying ₹58,477 and undressing for fake medical check.
