A 20-year-old cadet at a marine engineering institute in Pune died after a basketball pole fell on him. The student identified as Vishal Verma was allegedly doing pull-ups on the basketball hoop when the entire frame collapsed on him, causing serious head injuries. Police said they are investigating whether the frame was rusty or there were defects in the fittings.
