Aronyak Ghosh became India's 95th chess Grandmaster on Sunday, achieving his final Grandmaster norm at the Bangkok Chess Club Open 2026 in Thailand. The 22-year-old, who hails from Kolkata, scored seven points in nine rounds and finished joint-first in the competition. Ghosh had achieved his first Grandmaster norm nearly three years ago, in 2023, at the Sants Open.
