2,290-kg satellite crashes into Earth after nearly 30 years in space

European Space Agency's (ESA) second European Remote Sensing satellite, ERS-2, that was launched nearly 30 years ago has crashed into Earth. Debris from the satellite fell over the North Pacific Ocean, the European Space Agency (ESA) said. The bus-sized satellite, which was retired in 2011, weighed 2,290 kg.
