The police on Wednesday arrested 23 Bangladeshi people, including women and children, for entering Tripura illegally. The Bangladeshis reportedly entered India through Gandacherra, which is mostly unfenced hilly terrain. The arrested people claimed to have crossed into India to seek a Hindu saint. They were produced before a local court, which sentenced them to custody till March 8.
