Kuwait's Health Ministry announced that 23 people, mostly Asians, have died and 21 others have suffered blindness or vision impairment due to methanol poisoning after consuming contaminated alcoholic drinks. The Ministry said the total number of cases has risen to 160. Most of the affected people have been admitted to intensive care, requiring mechanical ventilation and urgent kidney dialysis.
