24 Meghalaya children taken to an unregistered facility in Karnataka were safely reunited with their families after joint operation by Social Welfare Department & SCPCR. Officials raised concerns over minors being moved without legal procedures and proposed an SOP for safe transfers. Children came from poor families seeking education and authorities will increase monitoring to prevent such cases.
