The All India Bank Employees Association (AIBEA) has claimed that 2,426 wilful defaulters together owed more than ₹1.47 lakh crore to 17 public sector banks as on September 30, 2019. Mehul Choksi's Gitanjali Gems topped the list with a default of ₹4,644 crore to PNB. Among these banks, SBI faced the highest number of wilful defaulters at 685, AIBEA said.
