25-year-old protester executed hours after he married fiancée in jail in Iran

A 25-year-old Iranian protester named Alireza Sepahi got married to his 22-year-old fiancée Mahshad Kashani on the eve of his execution in Iran. The ceremony was held over the telephone, arranged from separate prisons in Isfahan hours before Sepahi was executed on October 5. The couple had been arrested in connection with the January 2026 anti-regime protests in Iran.
