29,000 kg of namkeen, chivda seized in Thane over poor hygiene, rats & cockroaches found

Maharashtra Food and Drug Administration has seized 28,955 kg of namkeen, chivda, wafers and banana chips and 56 litres of edible oil valued at over ₹20 lakh during a raid on 11 establishments in Thane. The establishments had extremely dirty and sticky flooring in the production areas and lacked proper drainage systems. Cockroaches and rats were found inside some establishments.
