A two-week lockdown was announced in Brazil's capital on Sunday to reduce the spread of COVID-19. Over the past week, at least eight Brazilian states adopted curfew measures due to the rise in COVID-19 cases and deaths. On Thursday, Brazil recorded the most number of deaths from the virus at 1,541 while 2,54,000 people have died overall in the country.
