3 Indian students part of Nobel-winning physicist's IceCube Collaboration
Three PhD scholars at Aligarh Muslim University—Anuj Kumar Upadhyay, Gopal Garg and Krishnamurthy Jayakumar—are members of the IceCube Collaboration. Its principal investigator, Belgian-born physicist Francis Halzen, won the 2026 Nobel Prize in Physics. Halzen was honoured "for decisive contributions to…IceCube Neutrino Observatory and…discovery of high-energy neutrinos of astrophysical origin".
