Three senior Indian Revenue Service (IRS) officers have been suspended for getting their juniors to prepare a report that recommended raising the highest tax rate to 40% for people with annual income above ₹1 crore. They have been given 15 days to submit a written statement in their defence. The report was placed in the public domain by IRS Association.
