3 years on, Garkhal school’s 71 children still without a building

For 71 children of Government Primary School, Garkhal, a panchayat bhawan continues to double as their classroom nearly three years after their school building was severely damaged in the monsoon of 2023. The irony is stark. While the government speaks of a five-year roadmap to overhaul government schools, the Garkhal school has failed to find a place on any priority list.
