Authorities seized around 30 tonnes of adulterated roasted chana (chickpeas) during a raid in UP's Gorakhpur on Monday (December 15). The chana was coloured using a banned hazardous yellow dye called auramine, reports said. A video showed officials putting some chana in water and shaking it to reveal the colour.
