30-year-old avoids liver transplant after rare condition diagnosed

A 30-year-old man advised to undergo a liver transplant after recurrent abdominal fluid buildup was successfully treated at KIMS Hospitals, Kondapur. Doctors diagnosed rare Budd-Chiari syndrome, caused by blocked liver veins, and restored blood flow using balloon venoplasty and a stent. His ascites resolved completely and liver function improved after treatment.
