Nearly 300 flights were cancelled on Monday and several others rescheduled after the main runway at the Mumbai airport was closed for six hours for pre-monsoon maintenance work. The Mumbai airport has two intersecting runways, namely the main runway and the secondary runway. On an average, there are 970 flight arrivals and departures at the Mumbai airport every day.
