38% of Delhi-NCR buildings vulnerable to earthquake: Study

A study estimated that around 38% of around 8.9 million buildings assessed across Delhi-NCR could be vulnerable to damage in a moderate earthquake scenario along two major active faults. This translates to over 33 lakh buildings, as per India Today. Researchers assessed potential seismic risk along Mahendragarh–Dehradun and Delhi–Sargodha Ridge faults. Springer Nature conducted the study.
