short by Gaurav Shroff / on Tuesday, 14 March, 2017
Pi (π) is a mathematical constant defined as the ratio of a circle's circumference to its diameter. The diameter of the observable universe is known to be about 93 billion light-years. To calculate the circumference of a circle with such a diameter to an accuracy equal to width of a hydrogen atom, only 39 decimal places of pi are needed.
