3D-printed nanoparticles to repair serious bone injuries
short by / on Thursday, 8 January, 2026
Researchers have developed strontium-doped silica nanoparticles that can be 3D-printed into custom scaffolds. These “smart” structures promote bone growth, trigger new blood-vessel formation and kill antibiotic-resistant bacteria. By combining these functions into one bio-ink, scientists offer a safer, more effective alternative to traditional bone grafts.
