Around 4,800 illegal immigrants have been deported to Bangladesh from holding centres in West Bengal, and around 836 such people are awaiting deportation, West Bengal Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari said. He also claimed that many immigrants had left voluntarily. CM Suevndu stated that around 100 km of land has been handed over to BSF for fencing on the Bangladesh border.
