About 400 koalas will be vaccinated against chlamydia in a trial in Australia in a bid to increase the longer-term survival of the animals. Chlamydia, a sexually transmitted disease also present in humans, has widely spread among the koalas in the country. The koalas will each receive one vaccine dose and will be microchipped before being released.
