Eight million users have been affected after 42 apps of an adware campaign were installed from Google Play alone, security researchers detected. The campaign had been running since July 2018. Once a user installed an adware-infected app, it would show full-screen ads on the device's display at intervals. Adware-infected apps would also mimic Facebook and Google's apps to avoid suspicion.
