43 lakh vehicles, including 30 lakh Teslas, recalled in China over door safety risk

Tesla and eight other automakers are recalling 43 lakh vehicles in China over concerns that emergency door handles may be difficult to locate or operate after crashes or electrical failures. Tesla accounts for nearly 30 lakh vehicles. Xiaomi, Leapmotor, Xpeng and Geely are also involved. Notably, China will ban concealed door handles from 2027.
