Around 44% of industry professionals are considering leaving the gaming sector due to redundancies amid AI boom and layoffs, survey by games recruitment firm Skillsearch. The UK has been hardest hit, with 76% of developers either actively planning or considering career switch outside of gaming by end of 2026. Studio closures and layoffs have erased over 30,000 jobs since 2022.
