46% of newly elected MPs face criminal charges: ADR

A report by Association of Democratic Reforms reveals that 46% of newly elected Lok Sabha members, totalling 251, face criminal charges, with 27 already convicted, marking a 55% rise since 2009. Additionally, 31% face serious charges like murder, rape, and crimes against women. Kerala has the highest MPs with criminal cases at 95%, followed by Telangana (82%) and Odisha (76%).
