Forty-nine Indian fishermen detained in Iran have returned to India on Thursday, according to the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA). The fishermen were detained three months ago while "unknowingly fishing between UAE and Iranian waters in the Kish island", said MEA spokesperson Vikas Swarup. Forty-four of the fishermen belong to Tamil Nadu, while five are from Gujarat.
