Five BJP-led states have announced job quotas for Agniveers in recruitment for government jobs on the occasion of Kargil Vijay Diwas on Friday. The five states are Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Odisha and Chhattisgarh. Earlier this month, Haryana, which also has a BJP-led government, had announced a 10% horizontal reservation for Agniveers in some government jobs.
