Kerala, Maharashtra, Punjab, Chhattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh have seen an upsurge in daily new cases of COVID-19, the Union Health Ministry said on Saturday. Maharashtra reported 6,112 new cases while Kerala reported 4,505 new cases on Friday. India's total active caseload stands at 1.43 lakh and Maharashtra and Kerala account for 75.87% of these cases, the Ministry added.
